What We Fit
From heritage sash frames to wide reserve-facing glass — thirteen ways to control light, privacy and heat, all made to measure and fitted in person.

Blockout, sunscreen or light-filtering fabric on a slim tube — the everyday answer for big glass and busy rooms.
Explore
Sheer and solid bands on one blind — align them for filtered light, offset them for near-total privacy.
Explore
Aluminium for bathrooms and kitchens, timber for sash windows and studies — slats that steer light by the degree.
Explore
Hexagonal air cells trap a layer of insulation against the glass — cooler summers, warmer winters, quieter rooms.
Explore
Wide vanes or flat glide panels for sliding doors and full-height glazing, with a clean architectural stack.
Explore
Fabric drops from a slim ceiling slot, hardware fully hidden — for frameless glass and architect-led renovations.
Explore
Tensioned systems for gables, skylights and the angled glass nobody else wants to measure.
Explore
Wide aluminium slats mounted outside the glass, stopping heat before it ever reaches the room.
Explore
Interlocking aluminium slats that close over an opening from the outside — sun, heat, glare and full blackout in one motorised system.
Shading, not security. Our roller shutters are made for sun, heat and glare control on the outside of the glass. They are not security-rated shutters — that is a different product, which we can quote on request.
Explore
Retractable shade over patios and verandas on demand, folding away to nothing when you want the sun back.
Explore
Zip-guided mesh or PVC screens that turn a patio into a wind-proof, insect-free room, in view or fully closed.
Explore
Remote, app, schedule or sun-sensor control on any product in the range — one button, every blind.

Also A Service
Restrings, new chains and tensioners, seized brackets, tired roller mechanisms and motor faults — repaired on site, whoever originally supplied the blind. In older Groenkloof homes it's usually the cords and brackets that have gone rather than the blind itself, and a repair costs a fraction of a replacement. If something genuinely can't be saved economically, we'll say so.

Why Groenkloof Is Different
Groenkloof sits against the edge of one of South Africa's oldest proclaimed nature reserves, and it shows in the streets: mature indigenous canopy, sloped erven cut into the kloof, and heritage homes built long before double glazing was a Pretoria habit. The light here doesn't arrive flat — it moves through leaves, drops down ridge-facing windows, and swings hard across a west wall by four o'clock.
Long part of the city's diplomatic quarter, many Groenkloof homes were built for privacy as much as light — deep verandas, tall sash windows, high garden walls. A modern blind or roller shutter has to respect that, not fight it: made-to-measure brackets for timber frames, motorised options for the windows nobody wants to reach on a ladder, and hardware that copes with a highveld hailstorm as easily as a still winter afternoon.
Homes backing onto the reserve boundary get genuine bushveld views — and hard afternoon glare straight off the ridge. Sunscreen fabrics and adjustable venetians keep the view without the squint.
Older sash and timber-framed windows need custom brackets and careful measuring, not off-the-shelf fittings. We measure every window in person, on site.
Summer hail and a hard afternoon sun are both real here. Retractable, sensor-controlled products protect themselves — and your investment — automatically.
Free, Researched Reading
Before you spend anything, read the free field guide we wrote for these streets specifically — the sun path over the ridge, the Highveld hail and UV, the reserve-edge glare, heritage sash windows, and what we'd fit on each elevation, with the honest trade-offs both ways.

Where We Work
Based in the reserve-edge suburbs of Pretoria's diplomatic belt, we measure and fit across Groenkloof and these neighbouring areas.
Frequently Asked
Yes — it's a large part of what we do here. Timber-framed sash windows, deep reveals and non-standard openings need in-person measuring and custom brackets, not off-the-shelf fittings. Every quote is based on a free in-home measure of your actual windows.
Our roller shutters are shading shutters — sun, heat, glare and blackout on the outside of the glass. They're motorised as standard with manual override, and finished to match your facade rather than looking like an add-on. They're not security-rated; if you're after security-rated shutters, that's a different product we can quote on request.
Fabrics and hardware in leafy, reserve-adjacent gardens do need the occasional wipe-down, same as any home surrounded by trees. We'll recommend easy-clean fabrics and, where it matters, motorised operation so there's nothing to touch.
Yes. Restrings, new chains and tensioners, replacement brackets, re-tensioned roller mechanisms and motor faults are all normal repair work, whoever supplied the blind. In older Groenkloof homes it's often the cords and brackets that have gone rather than the blind itself, and a repair is a fraction of a replacement. If a blind genuinely can't be saved economically, we'll tell you that instead of quoting you for a repair that won't last.
Yes. Chain and cord tensioners are fitted as standard practice, and cordless or motorised options are available on every product line — the safest choice for nurseries and children's rooms.
Nothing. A consultant measures your windows in person and provides a written, per-window quote at no cost and with no obligation.
It depends on the products and fabrics you choose and current workshop schedules — your consultant will confirm exact timing when your written quote is issued.
